The EU has declared 2022 the European Year of Youth (EYY), aiming to engage young people in key consultation processes, such as the Conference on the Future of Europe, and in other public policies at EU, national and local levels. There was also a special focus on young people with fewer opportunities and on dealing with mental health issues.
Goals
- To inform youth about various EU programs and encourage them to take part in them.
- To encourage young people to share their vision about the EU and strengthen the feeling that their opinions matter and are valuable.
- To inform the public about the European Year of Youth, so people would understand what the meaning of it is.
Implementation
To encourage young people to share their opinions on the EU, we created the "Voice your vision" recording studio, designed to resemble a professional podcast studio. Informational displays in front of the studio featured various topics with brief descriptions and thought-provoking questions. Attendees were encouraged to record their visions in the studio, which were then uploaded to the online platform. As a token of appreciation, participants received a European Year of Youth bracelet. During the studio's launch, we hosted a podcast-style discussion with Mantas Grimalis, the host of "Pralauzk vieną salta," and Lithuanian singer-songwriter Raminta Naujanyte-Bjelle. They shared their Erasmus+ experiences in Iceland and Malta, engaging with a live audience.
